Nakatsugawa canyon
About fifty thausands years ago,Naeba volcano erupted and volcanic lava and ash flowed.After that stream of Nakatsugawa eroded the lava and ash and this canyon was made.We can see a bed of lava in the cliff on the opposite side of the river.Tsunan town.Niigata pref.

Beech tree at Mt. Tsukuba
Mt. Tsukuba is isolated mountain in Kanto plain.In Kanto plain evergreen broad-leaved trees grow.But we can see beech trees at the top of Mt. Tsukuba,because climate is cool there.

Hijiri bridge
Hijiri bride is constructed in 1927.This bridge is one of eariest concrete arch bidges in Japan.The river in the photo is Kanda river ,which was built for defense of Edo castle in 17C.

Kachidoki bridge was built over Sumida river in 1940.It connects Ginza and Harumi wharf.

Mt.Takahara

Mt. Takahara is a mountain in northern Tochigi prefecture, which stopped it's volcanic activity about 0.1 million years ago . Valley of the photo is former crater. Obsidian is yielded in Mt. Takahara. At Kenngamine in left part of the photo, a old stone age mine of obsidian has been found . Stone tools made of obsidian yielded in Mt. Takahara are found in many parts of the Kanto area.
